How to reach Kallakurichi
The city is linked through road to various other cities like Salem, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Villupuram, Chennai, Bangalore, Erode, Cuddalore and other encompassing towns. Kallakurichi is connected to other major towns by NH 79. The nearest rail head is at Tirukoilur Junction at a distance of 45 kilometres. Salem Airport is at a distance of 126 kilometres from Kallakurichi district.
Kallakurichi is an emerging agricultural district. It is also known as “Home of Agriculture”. There are over 10 Rice processing units or modern rice (mills) both small and big in this town. Textiles, Jewellery and agricultural feeds are major businesses.
The district has some very famous temples that include Suambu Sree Annamaliyar Temple, Sree Sadaiappa Temple, Lord Venkateshwara Temple and Drowpathi Amman Temple.
Kallakurichi is closer to Kalvarayan Hills. The proximity of clouds fall near the peak of Vellimalai hilltop is a popular tourist spot for locals during the monsoon season. Vellimalai is a pristine unexplored location. There are so many of villages in Kalvarayan hills’ hilltop and in the chilly of the climates in Innaddu.
Gomukhi dam is one of the best place to visit.Many waterfalls are there in the kalvarayan hills. Periyar, Megam and Kaviyam waterfalls are very noted one.
